- Demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts and principles of bibliographic control;
- Recognize different approaches to cataloging/classification, and selected tools/resources;
- Utilize selected key tools properly for cataloging and classifying items (including AACR2r, ISBD, MARC, DDC, Sears);
- Demonstrate an understanding of the descriptive/subject cataloging and classification of items, and appreciate their roles and importance in organizing and retrieving information.
